The Gold Coast in Chicago (located adjacent to the Magnificent Mile) boasts some of the most exclusive real estate in the city, dazzling historic buildings and some of the best shopping and dining the city has to offer. Stroll with us through these tree lined streets as we take you on a full day of exploring the Gold Coast neighborhood.

Insider Tip: Keep an eye out for street markers featuring biographies of local historical figures that lived in the neighborhood.

Start off the morning with brunch at 3rd Coast Café & Wine Bar, (1260 N. Dearborn) a local destination for brunch in the morning and wine at night.  Situated on the corner of Dearborn and Goethe, the underground location has been a must-try eatery since the 1920’s. 3rd Coast offers an affordable list of breakfast favorites complemented by a lengthy list of wines for the occasional indulgence.

Second only to Michigan Avenue in shopping prowess, Oak Street is Chicago's most prestigious shopping street with a mix of international couture houses, American luxury brands and local boutiques. Start with the plethora of options at Barney’s, before making your way to a variety of brands and boutiques including Madewell, Tory Burch and Suit Supply for men. Your closet will thank you, though your wallet may not.

After hitting all the shops, head to the 3 Arts Club Café, (1300 N. Dearborn) located in the remodeled Restoration Hardware at the Three Arts Club.  The historic building, once home to female artists “three arts” of music, painting, and drama, was recently restored by Restoration Hardware to include a showroom of home furnishings and a café.  The 3 Art Club Café features small bites an elegant cocktail list and wines by the glass

Late Night
Straight down Rush Street will bring you to Sparrow, (12 W. Elm) an intimate cocktail bar with Cuban flair.  Housed in a 1920’s art deco building, Sparrow is a former hotel lobby bar turned into a neighborhood cocktail bar.  The menu features craft beer and 1930’s area rum cocktails. It’s the perfect spot to end a day in the Gold Coast.
