For some of us, coffee is the fuel that gets us through the day. For others, it’s something to savor when we curl up with a good book. Either way, there’s nothing like a cozy coffee shop for getting a cup—or several—of Joe. But instead of reaching for the same old grande or venti, check out an independent seller or local chain. Whether you’re visiting us in Chicago or New York, it’s worth exploring some of our favorite coffee shops. Most are within a 15-minute walk of The James, but we’ve also included a couple others if you want to venture a bit farther afield.
