In the Neighborhood: Silver Lake
Silver Lake is an east side neighborhood known as one of the most walkable areas in Los Angeles. Stroll with us down Sunset Boulevard and a few surrounding streets, as we take you on an all day journey into our top destinations in this unique community. Insider Tip: Silver Lake is one of the best locales for street style, so keep your eyes peeled for fashionable folk.
Instead of hitting the coffee shop, head to Naturewell (3824 Sunset Blvd.) a popular local juicer that has recently opened additional locations in Long Beach and Studio City. The menu is filled with an array of flavored juices, smoothies, shots and acai bowls, all customizable based on your taste buds.
Known as a shopping mecca, Silver Lake boasts a series of mom and pop feeling stores including Broom Street General Store (2912 Rowena Ave.). The shop recently expanded from primarily carrying vintage goods to also stocking contemporary clothing, furniture, cookware and dining products. It’s where the locals go to grab an unusual gift.
After perusing the shops, grab a quick bite at the laidback Vietnamese eatery Blossom (426 S. Main St.). The bright, modern space includes indoor or sidewalk seating for alfresco dining. The food prices are more than affordable, but the real reason to go is the expansive wine list.
End your walking tour by stopping in for a drink at neighborhood mainstay Thirsty Crow (2939 Sunset Blvd.). A haven for whiskey lovers, Thirsty Crow boasts a selection of over 100 whiskies including 60+ small batch bourbons, handcrafted cocktails and some of the best happy hour specials in town.
