Visit the New Second Floor of the Micro Museum in Brooklyn
This innovative museum has big art tucked away in intimate spaces, with a brand new floor to discover.
It’s no secret that #artattheJames is a big part of The James Hotel experience, especially in New York City. The recently opened Second Floor at the Micro Museum in Brooklyn should be on any art lovers to-do list. The Micro Museum has been encouraging creativity and serving as an incubator for artists since 1986, its mission being to inspire others to aspire. Founded by artists William and Kathleen Laziza, the museum houses a sizable digital collection, allowing them to fit a lot of art in minimal space. Packing a unique and creativity-fueled punch, the Micro Museum prides itself on a “Small venue BIG art” concept that is interactive and features all a mix of media, visual, dance, and performing arts. Since 1994, the Second Floor window has been home to a solar powered art work called the AC/DC window, and with the opening of the Second Floor museum space, visitors will have access to the works of additional artists for the first time.
The Micro Museum is planning a grand opening event for its Second Floor in 2016. The museum is open to the public on Saturdays and offers a variety of tour options, including private tours, artist talks, teen tours, special events, and more on other days of the week.
