  • Penthouse Loft by Piet Boon

On the 16th floor, The James New York boasts one 1300 sq.-ft. non-smoking Penthouse Loft, designed by world-renowned Dutch designer Piet Boon, whose work marries functional, timeless design and natural materials with distinguishing signature details. In the true Piet Boon tradition, the space is luxurious, airy, and inviting with bleached Oak flooring and espresso stained millwork. The Penthouse includes a dining room, a wet bar, a master bedroom, one full bathroom with a free-standing tub and a double shower, an additional half-bath for guests, and a grand living room showcasing expansive river views and Manhattan Bridges. State of the art sound and lutron lighting systems to allow for complete environment customization by the guest. Access is also provided to our Stylist Collection offering travel-centric must haves selected by stylist Mimi Lombardo including designers Trina Turk, Kara Ross, Paul Smith, Ernest Alexander and more.

The Bedroom and Bath are private sanctuaries. The five-fixture bath is furnished in white marble with a freestanding soaking tub which has wonderful city views. The bed is luxuriously dressed in the finest Fili d’Oro linens and a soft grey, leather upholstered headboard.

The Piet Boon design team was selected for their modernist style and their exceptional ability to create a comfortable atmosphere and restful interiors through careful curation of natural materials and coverings. Featured pieces include Piet Boon’s Kekke Chaise Lounge and Heit Swivel Chair introduced at this year’s Milan Design Exposition.
