#bts: What To Expect At Scarpetta NoMad
The NoMad neighborhood will soon be infused with a delizioso dose of hospitality with the arrival of Italian restaurant, Scarpetta – opening this winter at The James New York – NoMad. From the renowned LDV Hospitality, Scarpetta will include design by Thomas Juul-Hansen, a full bar and lounge and a dining room with seating for over 100 guests. We recently sat down with John Meadow, President of LDV Hospitality to chat about what guests and New York City natives alike can expect.
What are you most excited about for this new Scarpetta location?
JCM: After ten successful years in the Meatpacking District, I am excited to evolve and elevate the Scarpetta experience in the charming NoMad neighborhood.
Tell us about the design inspiration for the new space.
JCM: The goal was to stay true to Scarpetta’s core DNA of a communal dinner party in a casual yet elegant, inviting ambiance created by organic raw materials presented in a contemporary fashion – all at an elevated level envisioned by the acclaimed designer Thomas Juul-Hansen.
Any standout menu items we should look out for?
JCM: We’ve added a series of composed, vegetable-centric shared plates under the Verdure section of the menu, offering a variety of lighter, seasonal, healthy options paired with our Scarpetta classics.
What can we expect from Executive Chef Jorge Espinoza?
JCM: The same passion and dedication that has brought us success over the past ten years with new experiences of breakfast and lunch and more aggressive seasonal changes.
What do you love most about the NoMad neighborhood?
JCM: The NoMad neighborhood represents a wonderful balance of work and play that is quintessentially New York. We’re thrilled to launch our newest lounge concept, The Seville, to personify the neighborhood balance of high quality dining paired with decadent social indulgences.
