Black Friday & Cyber Monday Shopping Tips
If you’re waiting in the Best Buy line at 5 a.m. or sitting in your pajamas refreshing your browser that can only mean Black Friday and Cyber Monday are almost upon us. With stores opening even earlier and letting customers know ahead of time what the best deals will be, we’re sharing our top tips for getting the biggest bang for your buck this Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
1.) Start with a budget. Our number one tip is probably the easiest, yet hardest, mission to accomplish. With all the deals from your favorite stores it can be hard to stay within your means (especially with the threat of impulse purchases). Putting together a budget in advance will keep you from overspending as you’ll have in your head the number you’re looking to stick to.
2.) Research. Once your budget is firm, begin to comb through the ads to help navigate your shopping priorities. The website www.blackfriday.fm compiles all the Black Friday ads from major stores in one place. It’s a “one-stop-shop” for Black Friday and Cyber Monday shoppers looking to map out where to go first.
3.) Scour social media. Many online retailers will be posting special Cyber Monday promo codes throughout the day on November 27 (and even prior). Be sure to follow your favorite stores and check social media regularly in case you’re able to score an extra percentage off your purchase. (Insider tip: make sure you’re following us @jameshotels.)
4.) Don’t forget Giving Tuesday. After Black Friday and Cyber Monday occur don’t forget that Giving Tuesday follows on November 28. Be sure to add this to your budget and head to www.givingtuesday.org to pick out a charity you would like to donate to this holiday season.
