Day 1: Check In and Explore the Flatiron District

Finding an idyllic place to stay full of wonderful details and superb service is easy when you stay with us at The James NoMad. Our hotel is an oasis in the heart of the concrete jungle. At The James NoMad, you’ll experience a world of luxe amenities and innovative guest services beyond the sanctuary of our deluxe rooms and suites. Once you’ve checked into your Jimmy Suite, spend some time exploring your accommodations and the hotel amenities. Then, slip into one of our complimentary plush robes and cuddle with your significant other while you unwind from the journey.

After some much-needed recharging, head out to explore the remarkable Flatiron District. Just a few steps away from the lobby of The James. Named after the iconic wedge-shaped Flatiron Building on 23rd Street, our neighborhood is also home to many chic bars, Michelin-star restaurants, and Madison Square Park, known for its seasonal art installations as the home of the original location of Shake Shack. Grab a burger or split a milkshake for an authentic NYC experience! Once your belly and hearts are full, head over to one of the most romantic attractions in the city, featured in many movies as a place for amorous encounters and the site for many proposals, the Empire State Building. The two of you will ascend to the viewing platform on the 86th floor and watch as the sun goes down over a panoramic view of the Big Apple, illuminated by city lights.

Afterward, head back to The James for a nightcap at our very own speakeasy, The Seville. A tribute to the original Beaux-Arts Hotel Seville, which occupied this site in 1904, our cocktail lounge will transport you to a bygone era of New York, all expertly done with a contemporary twist. Finish the first night of your getaway with live music, moody decor, and delectably crafted cocktails like a plank-smoked Old Fashioned or an Aloe You Forever gin-forward libation. No matter the time of year you visit The James NoMad, you’re in for a treat at The Seville.

Day 2: Breakfast in Bed and Central Park + Museum Day

Pamper yourself and your loved one with an exquisite breakfast in bed, brought to you by one of our outstanding staff members. You can enjoy pancakes and coffee from the comfort of your room in our complimentary robes, or if you’re ready to tackle the day, head down to Scarpetta’s cafe for yummy pastries and specialty coffee. If you’re visiting us during the weekend, make sure to try out their Sunday Brunch, which features mouthwatering brunch staples with Scarpetta’s Italian twist, classic sweet and savory ricotta pancakes, as well as their expertly cooked spaghetti, because you can and should be having spaghetti at brunch!

After a fulfilling brunch or breakfast, hop on a train or walk to Central Park. You can’t have a dreamy getaway in the city without strolling through the famous park. Depending on the time of year you visit, you can rent a rowboat in the park. The lake in Central Park looks like it has been taken out of a fairy tale. You can serenade your special someone amidst the spring blooms or fall leaves while admiring the dramatic New York skyline. If you happen to visit during the winter months, make your way through the park and admire the winter wonderland that it transforms into as you make your way to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Getting lost at the MET is a must on a cold winter’s day, and let’s be honest, strolling past world-renowned art while holding hands with your beloved is one of the most charming things you can do. If you only have time to visit one museum in the city, this is the one. Housing more than 2 million pieces of art spanning 5,000 plus years, the MET is the largest museum in the country and the fifth largest in the world. Make sure to swing by the Cantor Rooftop Garden during your visit for a beautiful panoramic view of Central Park.

After visiting the MET, head back to The James Hotel for one of our signature lobby Happy Hours. We always showcase local musicians and talent, and complimentary refreshments and snacks make this the perfect place to whet your appetite before dinner. If you didn’t get a chance to sample the Scarpetta Brunch, you must try the dinner menu. Start your candlelight dinner with a refreshing red shrimp carpaccio and toast to your love with a Dolce Vita cocktail; the prosecco will surely spark your appetite for a little flirting. After toasting to a lifetime of love, it’s time for the entrees. The short rib and bone marrow is a delicacy you can’t miss, and the lobster tagliolini is the ideal size for sharing. Stretch the evening a little bit longer, after all, you’re already at the hotel, so there is no need to worry about walking back home. Split a scrumptious dessert, like the decadent Valrhona chocolate cake or a subtle honey and burnt orange mousse. After your meal, head upstairs for an early night or to split that bottle of champagne complimentary with the Love at The James package!

Day 3: Not a Goodbye but a See You Later!

For your final morning, feel free to request a late checkout and sleep in so you can enjoy the last morning in your beautifully appointed hotel room. Of course, we’ll always be sad to see you go, but if you want to spend some extra time exploring the city, we can always keep your bags stored safely while you wander around the city for a bit longer, ask any of our friendly staff at the front desk and they will be glad to assist you. Before you go gallivanting around, make sure to grab a coffee and a bite to eat at Bourke Street Bakery, just around the corner from the hotel. This Australian bakery focuses on sourdough pastries and artisanal bread, a convenient quick stop for a tasty treat while on the go.

A half a day is good to go shopping for a sweet souvenir to remember this unspoiled weekend, or you could always try and score some Broadway matinee tickets for an early — and often cheaper — performance of a renowned show you’ve always wanted to see! If you and your significant other are book lovers, then a better idea might be to head to the New York Public Library to check out the Treasure Exhibit, a must-see for history and bibliophiles alike!
