EXPERIENCE THE JAMES

NEIGHBORHOOD GUIDE

Centrally located at 29th and Madison, The James New York – NoMad provides an oasis from the non-stop energy of New York, a perfectly situated home base from which to explore the city. Just beyond NoMad’s thriving culture and renaissance border, you’re minutes away from Madison Square Park, Gramercy Park and the Flatiron District, and walking distance to many of the neighborhoods that make New York such an iconic and vibrant destination.

Head west for the pumping art scene of Chelsea and walk the Highline, or north for the electricity of Midtown, Broadway and Times Square. Then venture south to the boho chic of Greenwich Village, the restaurants of the Meatpacking District, downtown to Soho’s famous shopping and beyond. Exploration beckons.

Flatiron Building

Just south of Madison Square park is a famously triangular renaissance palazzo, the flatiron Building. The 22-stroy edifice is clad in white terracotta: its light color was revealed again by cleaning and restoration in the early 1990s. The surrounding neighborhood was christened in honor of the structure, which was the world’s first steel-frame skyscraper.
