NEW YORK – May 30, 2017 – The James New York – NoMad launches a preview phase on June 1st inviting guests to enjoy an exclusive glimpse of the hotel for special preview rates of up to 30% off, an unparalleled value for a luxury New York experience in the heart of the lively NoMad neighborhood. The new James New York – NoMad offers guests an urban retreat in the city that allows them to discover and embrace their best selves, catering to urban explorers in search of authenticity and local immersion.

Centrally located at 29th Street and Madison Avenue, guests have access to inspired culinary experiences at New York’s trendiest restaurants and bars, just steps away. During the ‘Preview’ phase, in-room amenities will include a curated pantry with a selection of local wines, spirits, and snacks, and as always, complimentary Wi-Fi. In late summer, guests will have access to the fitness center, offering [top of the line] equipment including Peloton bikes, signature James yoga mats and meditation cushions. Guests can also escape to the James Club and enjoy light bites and a variety of savory delights, along with refreshments, specially selected by local bakeries and restaurants.
Acclaimed designer Thomas Juul-Hansen is transforming the 366-room property, having each room serve as a private sanctuary styled and appointed with today’s modern traveler in mind. Locally crafted and custom designed, the collection of furnishings featured throughout the rooms and suites conveys an eclectic and collected residential feel, with all of the pieces having a unique identity. The materiality of the guestrooms, from the intricately grated brass minibars to the hand-carved bathroom vanities emanate a luxurious modernity. The transformed lobby includes a richer palate of warm fabrics, conveying an approachable and comfortable refuge for guests.
An array of boutique hotel rooms will be available including Queen and King Deluxe guestrooms, King Jimmy Suites, and King James Suites. Jimmy Suites offer separate living and sleeping rooms, as well as two full bathrooms. James Suites offer the standout feature of customizable layouts, featuring a large living room with a pullout sofa, separate bedrooms and spacious bathrooms.
To keep with the brands core pillars of Connection, Consciousness and Community, each property has a unique thumbprint of locally sourced influential facets as part of its brand ethos. The James New York – NoMad has commissioned local artists, Justine Hill, Tamara Zahaykevich, Adrian Coleman, Carrie Johnson, Nancy Starrow, and Margaret Evangeline to bring to enliven the hotel. The pieces will be featured in guest rooms and public spaces, artfully incorporating design elements reminiscent of global nomads accumulating eclectic treasures along their journeys.
In early fall, guests will have access to the critically acclaimed restaurant Scarpetta, by John Meadow’s LDV Hospitality, along with a new cocktail bar concept. Scarpetta is LDV Hospitality’s signature restaurant concept that first launched in New York and now has locations in Montauk, Las Vegas, Miami, and Philadelphia. The philosophy of Scarpetta’s kitchen is one of creating bold flavors by amplifying the essence of seasonal ingredients. In 2008, Scarpetta received a James Beard nomination for ‘Best New Restaurant in America’ as well as a coveted three-star review from the New York Times. The partnership with LDV Hospitality will be a key influence and driver in the resurgence of Manhattan’sNoMad district that will attract global and neighboring travelers.
Following the ‘Preview’ phase, The James will employ advanced technology through the KEYPR® system, further elevating and connecting the guest experience. Features include keyless room entry, in-room tablets and a custom mobile app allowing guests to order in-room dining through their own devices and stream their favorite movies and shows. For the conscious traveler, The James will be launching a Four Bodies Wellness Program, designed to revitalize the physical and restore the spiritual self, which will be available for guests in-room to experience.
